INTERVENTION
- Intervention is a legal process that is used if you have a Chapter 39 Dependency case open on your child. This means that the state has removed your child because of possible abandonment, abuse or neglect. Pursuant to Florida Statute section 63.082, a parent may place her child for adoption with a private adoption agency, even if the child is under jurisdiction of the juvenile dependency court and in foster care as long as no final judgment of termination of parental rights has been entered. This allows you to gain control over the permanency of your child and allow you to participate in the selection of a prospective adoptive family.
- This gives you the ability to take your child out of foster care and give them a permanent home of your choosing. You would be able to engage in a private adoption plan where you can select and meet the Adoptive Parents and receive photo and letter updates of your child.
