I met Ashley a few years back when life was nothing less than crazy. My father had just passed away from a brain tumor and I was now considered an “Adult Orphan” since my mom had passed 9 years prior to that. I was managing a full time law firm, taking on difficult cases as a Guardian Ad Litem, and tending to my family which included being a full time soccer mom with teenagers on different teams. My life was chaotic. When Ashley and I were introduced, I felt an immediate connection to her. Through all of the chaos, Ashley brought calm.
One day, I was sitting in my office and Ashley, who worked in the same building, peaked her head in and asked if we could chat for a few. It was at that time that Ashley pulled out this little purple bag. She put it on my desk. She said “pick one.” I really had no clue what she was talking about but I put my hand in this little purple bag and I pulled out a stone that said “You are doing the best that you can.” I looked at Ashley and I didn’t really know how to react. It was then that Ashley told me about her story. We all have a story. “Sometimes, we just need to hear something positive. Sometimes, we just need a little message to get us through it all. Sometimes, we just want to feel good.”
This Feel Good Bag has become a part of my family’s routine. Every morning, while driving to school, my sons pull out the bag that sits in the console and we pick a stone together. Every day we get a little message which always seems to hit close to home. I am including the link for the Feel Good Bag on my website because life is a journey. Any time that you go on a journey, you need to stop and reflect. I am passionate about the work that I do with families and I am honored to be on this journey with you.
